The Basics

  • For a module exchange, you must take a minimum of 3 classes, but sometimes our partner schools will require more depending on their own regulations.
  • Exchange program credit will transfer, provided you have passed the course.
  • Exchange courses are transferred back to UNC on a P (pass) or F (fail) basis.
  • Credits will count toward your graduation requirements.
  • If you are a Dual-degree student you must meet with MBA Registrar to ensure you’re on track for graduation.

Credits

Credits don’t translate 1:1. They are based on the number of contact hours at the partner school.

Important: In order to earn credit for the exchange program, you must provide the course syllabi for all courses you enroll or intend to enroll in during the Exchange. This must be submitted to Patricia Collins no later than first week of the exchange term or following the Add/Drop period at the host school. If not received, credits will not be awarded.

Prior to receiving the syllabi, you will be enrolled in a place holder course (MBA 886) and once syllabi have been reviewed, you will be enrolled in an exchange section of the MBA course equivalent (if there is content overlap) or into MBA (TBD) as a special topic course.

Module exchange ranges from 4-8 weeks.

  • 3 courses at minimum and no less than 4.5 elective credits and no more than 7.5, no matter how rigorous the host school’s curriculum is. (Example St. Gallen or IESE)

Semester exchange (2 modules or trimester) ranges from 9-15 weeks.

  • Credits earned can be no less than 9 and no more than 12.

The Course Registration/Approval form will be emailed to you!
